Do you want to see what it’s like fishing with the one and only (seriously) Mark Zona? All you have to do to get a shot at it is to give some dough to BoatUS – but you have to register here.
From BoatUS: “Anglers must join by the contest entry deadline of July 31, 2011. The winner will be notified by August 10, 2011, and will receive a $1,000 prepaid Visa card (to be used for fishing trip transportation and lodging) and a BoatUS Angler prize pack. The trip will take place in Mark’s home state of Michigan.”
Z said, “I’m going to show the lucky winner all of my favorite local fishing holes and hope for the best, and then I will have to erase their memories somehow.”
BoatUS says Z “chuckled” when he said that. I’m here to tell you that he’s not a chuckler. Nor is he a belly-laugher. Somewhere between.
As someone who’s been fishing with Z many times, I recommend that if you win, you bring the following on the trip:
> Fuzzy dice (black or pink)
> Funyuns (1 pack) or pepperoni (stick, not slices)
> Red Bull (you don’t want Z to run out)
> Ear plugs
> MP3 player with all Motley Crue albums
> 1 piece of Bears memorabilia (for emergencies)
Trust me on this. But most of all, bring whatever fishing chops you have because Z is a crazy good fisherman, and ain’t afraid to let you know if you’re not. Or maybe that just applied to me….
