Are You Fishing the Ram Mega Bass?

rammegabasslogo_350If you live within even a loooooooong drive of Lake Fork, hope your answer to that question is yes. Because if there’s one derby that has all the elements of “worth going to” or even “awesome,” it’s this one.

Case you’re unfamiliar:

> Conducted by Bass Champs, one of the best regional tournament organizations in the country (important).

> Just one day (which I like for us weekend warriors), the richest one-day bass tournament in the world.

> Hourly fish weighs like a lot of derbies, but get this: a Dodge Ram Truck for the heaviest fish EVERY HOUR (plus a total of 100 hourly checks awarded), AND a Skeeter boat for the biggest bass of the day. (Cast out a bait, reel in a truck…and maybe a boat too!)

> In case that’s not enough, did I mention it’s on legendary giaganto bass factory Lake Fork!

Some Deets

> April 7, 2013 – That’s the weekend after this one, 8am to 2pm. $150 per person entry.

> Heaviest bass of each hour will win a new Ram Truck. The top 15 bass of each hour will win cash ranging from $500 for 2nd place to $150 for 15th place.

> The person who catches the single largest bass of the day will receive a Skeeter ZX190 bass boat IN ADDITION TO the Ram Truck.

> The 2012 winner, Ken Addington (photo below), won the whole shebang with a 9.68 – and there’s WAY bigger largies in Fork than that. He said: “It adds a whole new element to fishing. It’s like you’re literally fishing for vehicles. It’s awesome!”

Okay. One day I will make this event. Get there if you can. And in case you’re unfamiliar with Fork, we’ll be posting some BassGold pattern info for that event on the BassGold Blog and/or the Bass Champs website.
