What Do You Want On a Boat?

Saw this post the other day on Lund’s customize your new boat app. (Doesn’t Ranger do this too?)

Cool idea, but a couple issues with it for me. One is it of course is limited to certain hull and floorplan/deck options, for obvious reasons. Another is that a custom boat of any kind is a load of cashish.

But it got me thinking: What if you could design your own bassin’ boat from the ground up? What would be different about it?

Guess I’m talking about the layout of the deck/floorplan/seating/electronics.

I’ll really have to think about this, but one thing I can’t get enough of is a huge electronics display, including the one on the bow. The ability to raise that up probably wouldn’t hurt either.

Also would be cool not to have to walk all the way back to drop a fish in the livewell, but don’t know if there’s a practical solution to that.

Anyone got any rad ideas?

Maybe one day they will invent a clip-on Heads-Up Display (HUD) that fits on yor sunglasses and with a touch of a finger it displays your sonar screen on the lenses of you sunglasses?

As for getting the bass back to the livewell, why not have an internal water slide system? Kind of like the tube system that cashiers use to send their excess money to the vault.

Yeah it could even cull for you. Send the smaller bass back like when you cash a check. LOL

I’m surprised nobody has come up with a foul weather encloser system. It could be mounted to the top of the consol and pulled over you and lock onto the back deck, kinda like a cockpit. Rigid enough to withstand high winds and waterproof. Also see-through so you could motor to safety. Or could just provide a dry place to make a phone call or anything else that’s difficult to do in the rain/wind. Kinda the same thing you see folks put on golf carts during the winter time to cut wind/rain. I guess I just gave my million dollar idea away…
