Genius! Wear Dockers, Win $, Go Fish

Robert Felle with giant ax handle.

I kid you not, here’s the story.

Levi’s Dockers brand launched the Wear the Pants project in February that gives grants to men for…whatever. From the website: “Got a big plan but just can’t seem to actually find the time and resources to actually do something about it? We’re here to help.”

Got it? You apply to do whatever, and the worst you get is nothing. Or you might get $2,000 to go fishing, like Robert Felle of Mount Pleasant, WI did. Couple deets from this article:

> Felle, a 39-year-old accountant, won a weekly grant of up to $2,000 from Dockers to give men resources to realize their dreams. He was the first to win the weekly grant of up to $2,000 toward his plan.

> Now Felle, his father and two sons are headed to Canada this summer for their weeklong fishing trip.

And why is he going to Canada? Because he can’t cull in WI! (Just kidding – about the reason because he really can’t cull in WI.) He’s going to WI for more and bigger fish, of course.

Bottom line: Robert is a freakin’ genius. He hears about the contest, applies right away, figures “what the heck, I’ll ask for cash to go fishing,” and gets the dough! Please doff your cap to Mr. Felle when you see him.

If you want a “Man Grant,” you can submit your ingenious plan (“I’ve always wanted to fish Guntersville in the spring but can’t afford the gas!”) on the Dockers Facebook page until Nov. 24. Yes, November. You get some dough, report back here.
