Today’s Top 3

1. Global warming good for Great Lakes bass.

Prolly good for all bass…sweet!

> A new report from the National Wildlife Federation details ways climate change is affecting the Great Lakes states. The report says there’s more heavy rainfall events, a major decline in ice cover, and warmer average water temperatures.

> The report says ice cover of the Great Lakes in the winter has declined 71-percent on average.

> …Lake Superior is one of the fastest warming lakes in the world. Warmer water temperatures could improve habitat for fish like smallmouth bass and bluegill but hurt cold water species like northern pike and whitefish.

Less pike and whitefish?! Say it ain’t so, man!

2. Are MI anglers getting better?

The minimum weight for a smallie eligible for MI’s Master Angler program is going from 5-00 to 5-04. So either there really is something in the drinking water in KVDland, or maybe the smallies are getting bigger…because of global warming?

> The changes to the entry criteria were based on…environmental changes over the past several decades that have impacted fish growth in Michigan.

3. Dude has 9-04 lead at Southern Open!

Daniel Lanier, 5 fish for 27-11. His derby to win or lose now.

Remember what you’re imitating.

Basic? Yep, and most of us often forget the basics. Right on point, Dave, thanks man! Just wonder if most of the time I’m imitating an idiot….
