Yo! Be safe this weekend, keep your head on a swivel – it should be nuts. If you go, hope you catch some NICE'ns! Don't think I'll be "on 'em" because I'll be bein' dad at consecutive athletic events Sat, Sun and Mon. All good...but I will miss my Vexus pretty bad....
Huge THANK YOU to all the families of our military who have passed as well as those still here and still serving. Much love from one bass-head. Bless you guys.
Could not get with Ott DeFoe and the other MLFers in time for this BB, will have their stuff next week....

More rare than a Sasquatch sighting ➡️ this Bassquatch!!
Had this on social, if you didn't see it there that's bass-head Chris Stepp and he is holding a 7.39-lb smallmouth that he caught – reeeeeal nice fish but he caught it in an OHIO RIVER Buddy Trail tourney outta Powhatan Point, OH!!! WTHeck??? 23.75" long and 18" girth!!
That's like catching a 15-lb largie in NJ or getting vid of a bigfoot trying to break into your rod locker – amazing!

Jason Christie uses nail polish??
Man that really surprised me. I could see a couple pros doing it (heehee!) but not him. Here's what I mean:
That's a relief HAHAHA! Man if I saw him puttin' that stuff on his nails I'd be callin' Area 51 and askin' for a ride off-planet! What he posted about that deal:
> I added silver finger nail polish to the belly to imitate the size of the shad that were spawning.
> Also added the Trokar frog hook, allowed me to make very long casts and still hook up.
The shad deal is genius man, wow. Here's the rest of his 4th-place Guntersville bait info:
"There are a lot of things that can go wrong in a 4-day fishing tournament and only 1 or 2 that can go right."
> There's no point in doing something different. It doesn't make sense to make a run to a new spot or totally change your gameplan. You go with what has been working for you and hope for the best. [I think that is my problem lol, like: "This isn't working, het lookit all these other baits I got!"]
> This is an expensive sport. I don't have a trust fund, a wife with a good income or a business so my income is all from fishing. Actually, I don't have a wife at all. I'm single.
You hear that ladies? Hit him up on social!

Roundup of random bassin' stuff from around the webz!
When you know fishing ain't in the cards right now:
Would you put a skirt on your wacky Senko?
James Watson still can't figure out why his new tow vehicle got banned in every state except TX and FL. I was like, "It might be that little deal on the roof man."
From Japan: Would you wacky a Dumbbell worm?
Also from Japan: "Heavy Poop" is a "high-density worm" = you don't necessarily need a weight. But you might need something for proper disposal??
...then gave it back – Jacob posted:
> @dcfishing and I jumped into a Tues night 3-fish derby on a local [FL] lake. Ended up winning the derby with these 3 that weighed in at 22.72lbs!!! We took our entry fee back and put the rest of the winnings towards their Classic at the end of the year. At the end of the day we are just like anyone else. We just love bass fishing!!
Word is he was told to post that after bein' surrounded by locals with baseball bats...just messin' lol. Lookit these feesh!
...on his various social channels. Make sure you check 'em, that's ^ an Insta link.
I thought it was on a JackHammer with an aggressive sweep set, but he says kinda soft in the vid "EverGreen Grass Ripper." What's that?? Casting jig...not on TW yet:
That's not in the color he was usin' tho...here's the IG vid, just click on it:
A bass jumped INTO HIS BOAT before lines in. Because that happens to all of us....
No he won't let you run the troller, no he won't let you catch more than he does... But I'm dead serious.
In FL....
Garmin side imaging looking pretty good!
Both headin' to Erskine College, SC – one has the last name Robinson. Congrats to all!
Ike's 6th Annual Pro-Am Bass Fishing Tournament at Anchor Marina in Northeast, MD. Word is several Ike Live folks weren't gonna be there, but Ike brought in a funnel cake vendor so all good now...HAHAHA! Mike be sayin'::
> "In addition to having kids casting and fishing at the event, all of the proceeds we raise in the pro/am tournament will go towards getting NEW kids fishing. Elite pros Greg DiPalma and Bryan Schmitt are also fishing the event! 1st place prize is a brand NEW Bass Cat boat with a Yamaha outboard."
That's pretty stout!
Check it:

Lol! B-Rob broke in the new rig with some creativity! Said it was unplanned and picked that phrase cuz:
> I love fishin', that's how I picked it
Lol! If you wanna do some bass tub writin's – you don't have to be breaking in a new motor and #1 deal sure as heck is to BE SAFE (other boats, peeps, stumps, etc) – take a shot of your screen, and post it @brianrobison96 and @bassblaster with the hash #bassboatnote. Best one will get some baits and whatnot. Be muy safe peepos – this weekend is probly not a good time! Gracias!
> "We're fishing like it's the early part of June.... I attribute that to the early ice out and this warm stretch of weather we've had lately."
"Warm" in MN =
14. Western drought updatin's.
Seems like it's affecting many western states, and dry = increased chance of fire. Stay safe out there peeps and pray for rain!
Sounds a little drastic but maybe not? 4 of the lakes will allow more bass to be taken, bags are in effect until Oct 31.
CA: Oroville update – Heard from a few bass-heads that Oroville is down partly because they are installing new pipes.
Gitcha topwaters and Flukes on!
Kent Lake, #stout supporting our vets!

I vote yes!
30% off, ends Jun 1. A bunch to choose from, here's 4 CoolNet UV+ ("UPF 50 recycled REPREVE fabric protection with cooling technology") BUFFs I dig:
- I call this'n "surf shorts" – Reminds me of the time I beat western coast basser Todd Kline in a little surfin' contest...okay that would never happen....
> The Marsh Flow-Way, located along the northwest shore of Lake Apopka and west of the Apopka-Beauclair Canal, is a recirculating system that filters about 40% of the lake's volume each year.
> "...it is among a dozen projects at Lake Apopka to improve water quality and hasten the recovery of the lake's submerged aquatic plants...."
...sounds like because local gov'ts lost TVA funding for...something:
> "Without fishing tournaments on Lake Guntersville, we lose millions and millions of dollars because it's ranked in the top 3 to 5 bass [lakes] in the country. So we wanted to get ahead of that and come up with gap funding we lost from TVA."
23. CAN: Scientists say more anglers could hurt Great Lakes fish??
C'mon man, really? Can't link it – at greatlakesecho org.
> This year, the Great Lakes Fishery Commission's Lake Erie Committee is seeking funds to increase the number of carp-catching teams from 3 to 10. It also has set a goal of removing 390 reproductive-capable grass carp from the Great Lakes a year....
That doesn't sound like much?
Dude likes interesting spelling, that's for sure.
Not really a bass fisherman but raised lots of $$$ for NC outdoor stuff and was the guy who convinced the NC DNR to sell lifetime licenses:
> "It's about the 1 million men, women and children who hunt and fish in NC, people who have generated $2.3 billion a year for our state's economy. No other sport has done that."
Bless you brother.
PSAs
1. Anyone know about these or something similar? Looking for something like it.

2. Sell your truck?
You might know that apparently the chips used to make trucks 'n cars function are in real short supply. Because of that, used vehicles are in high demand – by dealers because they can't get new ones to sell to stay in biz.
When I heard used vehicles were selling for high $ I checked it out, here's what I found: I owe $22K on my 2016 Tundra with 77K miles, and it is worth (and I have an offer from a dealer for)...$37K! I've never seen that before in my life – usually it's worth less than the remaining loan.
Anyhow, downside is that many dealers, at least in the Northeast, are asking and getting MSRP for new vehicles. Not sure if it makes sense for you (or me) to do, just fyi.

Why Stetson Blaylock runs the MotorGuide Tour Pro.
I was legit curious because a) all this hype about same-brand stuff and b) I run one too. So here's what he said:
> Old-school feel: "This motor has such a solid, connected feel with the metal foot pedal and the cable steering – you can't beat its consistency under your foot. It doesn't matter if it's calm or rough, or if I'm fishing fast or slow, I know my motor is going to respond immediately with no pedal slam and no delay."
> Np using other 'lectronics: "I get the best of both worlds – using a trolling motor that gives me maximum performance while still having the newest technology in electronics....
> "I've got LiveScope, mapping, straight-down imaging, waypoint anchoring – every view and every feature I need is right there at the front of the boat."
He runs 2 Garmin Echomap Ultras up front, 1 for LiveScope (transducer on the shaft) and 1 for 2D (transducer under the nose of the troller). MotorGuides are compatible with all major sonar brands using its own universal HD+ sonar transducer or any other ones:
Also said:
> Says he barely uses GPS Anchor []: "I probably don't even use every feature as much as I could, but the MotorGuide gives me maximum performance and minimum effort so I can focus on fishing."
> He uses 2 12v Lithium Pros cranking batteries that run in parallel with 2 36v Lithium Pros. Everything is connected to a Power-Pole Charge Power Station. "With the Power-Pole Charge, I've never run my batteries all the way down. It's huge for my trolling motor and all the things I'm running off it – the charge unit helps everything works together to make my tournament day as tireless and worry-free as possible."
"You think you have the fish dialed in, but then it changes completely."
- Wait – that never happens to me, how 'bout you? Just messin' man – I don't even think I get to the dailed-in part!! That's TX HS basser Bo S droppin' a very profound statement – meaning:
- What does "dialed in" really mean?
- Are we really fooling ourselves...instead of the fish?
- What exactly is this "it" that changes?
- If "it" is the fish, why do they feel the need to change? Are they not satisfied with their lives or current circumstances?
So deep...which Bo says in that deal is 10'. Wish that was as deep as it got here in NJ! Goes to like 100+ here in some places....

Salutin' him for that AND the camo, especially the DIY muscle tee, which I used to be a specialist at myself back in the day...for real lol! Congrats on a heck of a day Brandon!
