Hahaha the Lee bros are way funny in a kinda crazy way man! Anyhow, here's 5 with a guy who I'm sure has another win about to smash through in Hulk-like fashion:
1. You've won with 5 fish and with unlimited fish, so what do you think about the change to 5?
> "I'm excited about it for multiple reasons. ...it's just hard for a lot of hardcore tournament fans to relate to it. So I'm excited for the fact that going back to 5, everybody knows...they understand it.
> "As far as from a fishing standpoint, some lakes it really won't matter and some it really will...how I approach the lake and try to tackle it to get a couple of those bigger bites...especially in the springtime – that's when we fish, a lot around the spawn and post-spawn.
> "It's still bass fishing, but I'm excited for those reasons."
2. Do you expect your bait selection to change?
> "I think so. Maybe not 100%, but it's gonna change a little bit during a tournament.
> "I don't know – it goes back and forth. In your mind you think so but... In every [MLF BPT] I was trying to get big ones too because that really boosts your weight. So maybe not as much [bait changes] as think it's going to."
3. Do you think your Abu J Lee Rods are one of the best deals in bassin' and which rod is your fave?
> "I'm pretty biased for sure on my rods. I do love 'em and think they did a great job on 'em.
> "I would say my favorite rod out of everything would probably be the 7' 2" MH Swim Jig-Jig Rod. ...good for everything so I tend to use that one a lot. That 7' 2" to 7' 3" is a really good length for what we do. It's pretty universal, so I do like that one the most.
> "That 7' 2" or the 7' 3" H Frog Rod – you can throw a jig, throw a worm, throw a Chatterbait, you can do pretty much all your bottom fishing with it...you can get by [doing everything] with it."
4. Will we get anymore "Off Day Thoughts" next season?
[Here's his only Off Day Thoughts vid on Insta – hilarious!]
> "Absolutely. That's coming. The Off Day Thoughts...gotta be natural, organic. I'm sure we're gonna pop 'em off in a couple tournaments. Hopefully I'll have some gasoline to pour on it."
5. What one bait would you fish this time of year all over the country?
> "I would probably go with the Berkley Stunna in the 'stealth shad' color, especially this time of year when it's starting to get cold. I think I could get bit on it pretty much everywhere.
> "The cool thing about that bait, if I'm really patient – it's a slow sink so I can get it down...to 10' and even 15' if they're really lethargic. ...cover, around brushpiles – even suspended fish, but mainly deeper cover. I'm probably on Active Target, forward-facing sonar....
> "...8-lb Trilene 100% Fluoro and my 6' 8" M Jerkbait Rod. For a jerkbait it's the one time I probably wouldn't use my personal reel. I'd go to a little bit higher end, like the Zenon X...a 6.8:1. That'd be my setup."
