Today’s Top 4
1. Phat! 40 lbs of spots!
Has this ever happened before?? 40.01 lbs of spotted bass caught in a tournament this weekend on Bullards Bar Rez in Cali. Caught on Strike King 10XDs and Senkos. PHAT!
2. Weird bass pics…
…just say no:
I mean seriously…that’s just weird, man.
Bryan Thrift won the Toledo Bend FLW by ketchin’ ’em on the last day while day 3 leader Mark Rose kinda didn’t. Deets:
> He fished an area that was about 5 miles long up the Angelina River…targeting cypress trees and grass patches.
> Day 4 “I really focused on 10 particular trees. I would put my Power-Poles down on those trees and flip very slowly, every 2 inches, all the way around that tree. I was spending 15 to 20 minutes on each tree.â€
> His key bait this week was a Texas-rigged Damiki Knock Out with a 5/16-ounce weight.
> …a versatile 4″ bait designed for flipping and pitching…comes with a multitude of appendages that can be removed to create different presentations.
> Two air filled chambers also lift the tail section of the Knockout off the ground [the ground??], giving the claws a waving motion even when sitting still.
4. Have you ever put on a chartreuse skirt?
– HAHAHA! Good line from a new Bass Pro Shops TV commercial. Holy max – did I just laugh at a fishing TV commercial??

Tip of the Day
Brett Hite: Chatterbait tips…
…from the Bassmaster TV show:
> You want a green color, black and blue, and some kind of shad pattern, whether that’s chartreuse and white or maybe crystal shad. [Green pumpkin] is the money-maker.
> Trailers: Swimming Senko…I cut it down I use it sometimes when I want it to be up in the water column a bit more. It’s a lighter bait.
> I think a black blade looks more natural. [The bass] want to feel that vibration. They’re not looking for the flash. And I’ve never seen a bluegill with a big shiny head.
> It is so productive through grass because you can fish it so efficiently, more than even a Rat-L-Trap or [other] lipless crankbait. The way it hits the grass, the erratic action and deflection [grass] gives this bait triggers big strikes.
Props on the fishing info Z and B.

We finally found something that Kevin VanDam cannot win.
– Dave “I am not Lex Luthor” Mercer on the Bassmaster Seminole Elite show, playing the new 6-secs game wif de pros. Question was the best 3 sight-fishermen on tour, 6 secs to do it, KVD only said 1.5 names in that time…as did many other pros…but I bet Kevin wins it the next time hahaha! Dude don’t like to lose at anything….
Diggin’ the segment…but not the music. Btw, the new Bassmaster set and show is OFF THE HOOK YO!
