This Dude Is Awesome!

Ever put an offer out there to take someone fishing for free? Sure, bet we all have.

Ever make the offer permanent and take all comers?

That would be something. Or not “would be” because at least lone guy’s already doing it: Michigan resident Brian Harding. Here’s more, from an article at greenbaypressgazette.com:

> Brian Harding is your buddy the instant he meets you – a genuinely nice guy who chats up anyone within earshot.

> Harding, 40, lives in Menominee, Mich., where he works with his father, Mike, and wife, Janel, in the family’s plumbing and heating business, W.D.M. Enterprises Inc. When he’s not working or chasing after his 9-year-old son, Harding is one of northeastern Wisconsin’s most enthusiastic fishing ambassadors.

> He spends several weekends competing in regional bass tournaments and representing Strike King lures and Vicious fishing line at sports shows from Green Bay to northern Illinois. When meeting people, Harding makes sure they get his business card.

> He loves to fish with everyone, whether they’re beginners or experts, kids or adults, doctors or dropouts. For the past 2 years, Harding’s “Fishing for Fun” program has generated steady lines of people waiting to fish…. Their cost? Nothing.

> “I don’t have a guide license, so I can’t charge people anyway,” Harding said. “I take them fishing for fun. I like teaching beginners how to fish, or teaching experienced fishermen a technique they haven’t tried. All some guys know is bait fishing. I can show them a bunch of different ways to catch fish with artificial baits.”

> “Fishing isn’t something you can easily pick up and just do on your own,” Harding said. “There’s different gear and different techniques for catching bass, and even more gear and different techniques for perch, walleyes, brown trout or northern pike. People don’t know where to start. It’s fun getting them past that first hurdle.”

Is that awesome or what!

It’s refreshing to see someone willing for help others while expecting nothing in return.
