Tackle Nerds Take Heed: Special Tops

Have you ever gone to a lake and thrown a lure that you know, without a doubt, the fish in that body of water have never seen before? It’s a pretty cool feeling, and I often go out of my way to find off-the-wall plugs from far-away places that I know most bassers won’t think about throwing.

One of the ways I do that is to keep an eye on new offerings from saltwater manufacturers—especially regional outfits and small mom-and-pop companies.

There’s a saltwater-specific lure manufacturer in Texas I’m affiliated with by the name of TTF Fishing that’s selling a production run of their new GunDog Flush series of topwater baits. I’ve been fortunate enough to fish with some of the Flush prototypes, and they’ve got some sweet action to them.

Here’s where it gets juicy. Not only is this bait designed for inshore fishing on the Gulf Coast (so you don’t have to worry about your buddies ever owning one) this is a production run of prototype baits that feature two different rattle systems. So once these babies are gone, that’s it! Imagine tagging a limit of bass in a tournament with one of these suckers and having your co-angler ask you, “Hey, what bait is that? I’ve never seen it before.” And then you get to crush his soul and say, “It’s a prototype. You can’t buy them anywhere.” Worth it? Umm… yeah!

Since these baits are designed for saltwater there’s a few crazy colors in there, but nothing that won’t catch a bass. Not to mention they’re selling a kit of all nine colors for only $34.99. I’m no math genius, but I’m pretty sure that’s less than $4.00 each, which is tough to beat.

You can buy the production-run kits directly from TTF by clicking here. I was told they have less than 200 of these kits in stock and they’ve already sold about half of them. So if you want one, you’d better grab it now.

Here’s a video I pulled off YouTube that shows the Flush in action (the Flush is featured at about the halfway point). That’ll catch a bass. Don’t ya’ think?

With that rolling action, I’m certain they called it FLUSH because it sounds like a toilet flushing when it gets Kamikazed by Cudas..

Yeah that should be a great topwater for bass.
