Strike King Sponsors BP Fantasy Fishing

You want fantasy fishing prizes? We’ve got your prizes right here!

The good folks at Strike King have stepped up to the plate to offer some KILLER incentives for joining BassParade’s fantasy fishing league. Not only do we have prize packages for EVERY regular-season event of the Bassmaster Elite Series, Strike King has also offered up even bigger prize packages for the league leaders throughout the season.

Here’s how it’s gonna work. Consider the following the official rules of the 2011 BassParade fantasy fishing league (the BPFFL man!).

Regular-Season Events
The winner of each regular-season event will receive a Strike King prize package worth about $75. If a Bass Parade pundit (Jason or Jay) wins the event, then all members of the league will be entered into a random drawing to receive the prize.

The Halfway Mark
We don’t just want to award the one-hit wonders. We’re all vying for fantasy angler of the year (FAOY), right? Thought so. That’s why the league leader after the halfway point – Battle on the Bayou, April 14-17 – will receive an even bigger prize package from Strike King worth $125. If a BP pundit leads at the halfway point (and let’s face it, we probably will…), we’ll do a random drawing for one lucky league member. So just because you stink it up at one event and knock yourself out of FAOY contention, don’t leave the league! You might still have a chance at winning a prize.

Fantasy Angler of the Year
Bigger prize package. Bigger prestige. The fantasy angler who claims the most coveted prize in fantasy fishing, the BPFAOY, will be showered in so many Strike King goodies you’ll have to buy a second boat just to hold them all. Okay… maybe not that much, but how does $250 worth of Strike King’s fish-catching products sound? Same rules as above—if a super-cool and handsome BP pundit named Jason or Jay mops the floor with you nerds (very likely) a random league member will walk away with the whole enchilada.

NOTE: In order to be eligible for the mid-season and BPFAOY prizes, you MUST be signed up in the Bass Parade fantasy fishing league hosted at www.BassmasterFantasy.com by April 13, 2011. We don’t want some knucklehead jumping into the league at the last minute trying to snatch a prize. Not cool. You can still sign up later in the season to compete for individual event prizes, though.

Prize Packages
You’re probably wondering what’s going to be included in these prize packages? Too bad! It’s a surprise. But Chris Brown of Strike King wants you to know that “It will be all current stuff…new and good!” Hmm. Wonder if he has any of those chartreuse/black KVD 1.5 square-bills laying around.

Winners
After each event we’ll post the winner’s name here at bassblaster.bassgold.com and on our Facebook page. Winners will have 72 hours from the time we post their information to contact us and claim their prize. After 72 hours the prize is forfeited and we’ll use a random drawing to see who gets the swag. Strike King will ship the prizes directly to the winners of each event.

You didn’t read the fine print.

If you win you actually have to drive to SK headquarters and pay for your baits. It’s a special clause just for you. Can you feel the love?

P.S. New “Fantasy Fishing Insider” podcast going live now at http://www.twincitylimits.podbean.com and on iTunes. Rich and I mock Jason mercilessly for crowning himself “The KVD of Fantasy Fishing.” Wha?

Well this is enough to get me to switch out a group. The question is, which one.

I say we start a petition to get B.A.S.S. to remove the goofy three-league maximum.

Glad you’ll be joining us, though. Tell your friends. Tell your mom’s friends. Tell your enemies. Tell your pets. Tell your pets’ imaginary friends. Get my drift? 😉

I have sent several messages to people at BASS about the 3 group thing, but the more heat the better!

Dropped Tackle Warehouse- I think they only give out year end prizes and they are the biggest league in Fantasy. I’m guessing my Classic showing put me out of contention there.
