Hope you had a great turkey break! Here's some stuff I've been eyeing and maybe you'll "need" too. 😁 Gonna intentionally stay away from jighead minnows because that would make it too long and I bet you're already stocked up there – or never will be lol. Enjoy and gitcha some deals!
Reminder that those Humminbird and Minn Kota discounts are running through TODAY DEC 1. Believe you can get 'em anywhere, including Tackle Warehouse – here's Humminbird, here's Minn Kota. Fwiw the Ultrex troller is pretty common among the younger peeps.
Also, if you're doing an electronical upgrade or overhaul this winter, Norsk Lithium is having a sale of individual batteries and chargers, and also package deals.

Backs up into the fish/cover, at times catches 'em when nothing else will. That back up into the fish's face action hasn't been done much over the years – because it's tough to do, and a lotta folks don't understand about needing slack – but when it is done and fished right, it typically works.
Reminder that the Krej comes in an 85 size now too.
BOOYAH Flash Point Jr
For me and maybe you, when the bite's tough, a smaller size jerk can get a bite. The Flash Point's head flash adds an extra sumpin-sumpin that can trigger fish too.
I usually like to fish the Jr Deep version ^ because I like getting down far enough to where even the laziest bass is tempted, and I like to dig along the bottom like a crank sometimes.
Need to mention that the Flash Points have some very good colors.
Rapala DT6
Just catches 'em, almost all year. Ask the 2014 Randy Howell if these baits work!
You might recall that I prefer the Rapala DT8 – same body size as the DT6, just digs a little deeper.
And if I/you get a calm day, REAL curious to see whether the ol' Rapala Original Floater will catch 'em – waked or just straight retrieved. Or maybe the new Floater Elite, which is weighed for easier casting and has better finishes like such:

The 3DR-X Flat Crank has some kinda different action to get fish to be interested. Same deal with the 3DR-X MR Crankbait. Might have to go with the matte colors this time of year – that's 'matte green gizzard.' 👆
A sleeper coldwater bait is the Pro Series Shad, now available in 2 sizes (60mm and 75mm) and matte colors.
Anything Great Lakes Finesse
Okay these baits were designed to finesse smallmouths, but man when it's colder and you just need a bite, how about downsizing and using matte colors?
Their Matte Finesse Jig (only comes in 1/8 and 3/16!) with a 2.1" Finesse Snack Craw might be a deal. After fishing that combo myself I just gotta say: Be ultra patient and fish ultra slow – feels like it takes 10 dang seconds for that bait to get to the bottom! And use a real sensitive rod.
I think the fish see that as one of these: 😁
Deadstick either one! The Hula Grub 100% works in my experience, and even though the Ika is supposed to be a cleanup bait AFTER SENKOS 🤯 I still haven't tried it.
But I have fished the kinda similar-shaped "do nothing" Yamatanuki and it works, so real curious in view of all this to try the new Fuzzy Nuki:

Fun, crazy-ish and swimmy baits
A hard + soft walking bait – why not?? Freddy Roumbanis came up with it or at least helped with it, so I can't believe there's no "boom boom" color? 🤔😁
Snag Proof Zoo Dog
An all-soft version of a walker – gotta be a useful non-frog look in frog territory?
Snag Proof Zoo Kick
If you miss a fish on that deal it's you, not the bait! 😁 ICAST award winner this year, that different wedge/heart-shaped tail gives you a different thump, of course the top and belly hook options and Z-Man's tough plastic – and it has an internal glass rattle for dirty water. And maybe clear water too, who knows what the fish will like that day.
I personally can't wait to fish this bait in COLD water. For some reason I think it'll catch 'em. Comes in 5" and 6".
Jackall Pompadour Jr
Now 2.5" and 5/8-oz so you don't have to feel like your casting a giant propellor out there. I've only heard a couple stories about these types of baits – meaning as far as I know they don't get fished much, but when they do it can be on...kinda like Plopper-style baits.
If you like this crawler-style bait and DC Comics, Imakatsu has a Batman one!
SacPig Bait Co Mischief Go Rat
Gonna bet you don't have a lipped rat in the 'freezer burn' color??
Berkley Chop Block
Are Chop Blocks illegal in the NFL (unless committed by the Chiefs lol) because they're effective? If so maybe that's why Berkley named their new glide bait the Chop Block.
Either way, it's softer/lighter so you can cast it easier and it doesn't sound like an atom bomb hitting the water, and you can get one for just $16! Colors are good too....
Bucca Brand Baits
Does Mike Bucca know anything about swimbaits? Yes, in fact he's a visiting professor at the Bass Dojo for anyone interested in getting their swimbait black belt...possibly. 😁
Anyhow, take Mike's advanced swimbait engineering experience, make the baits out of ABS plastic so they're more affordable (like $25) and you have the Bucca Brand baits, which are pretty too.
Savage Gear Scandal Glide Bait
A dollar bill is 6.14" long, and this bait is 6" (and also 4.5" lol) because it's money. 💵 😁 Seen it in person and fished it a little – I'm not a big swimbait guy but it looks very good and on the pause it does a subtle roll like it's dying.
Synch Fishing Artisan Glide Bait
I'm not a glide-baiter, but there's something about that bait that seems odd to me – in a good way that makes me want to fish it. Some of it is because it looks so different (to me).

"On sale" is the best time to buy rods and reels! 😁
Is Abu coming to a point where their lower-end stuff is so good that peeps stop buying REVOs and Fantasistas? Okay probably not, but you get my drift.
Spent a little time this weekend casting these 3 setups. Gonna say more about it this week, but the bottom line is they all cast great. A few comments:
1. Swimbait setup: Abu Beast 200 Reel ($250) + 7' 5" MH Mod F Abu Beast Rod ($180) – The reel felt just like a regular baitcaster in my hand and I could cast or even pitch (sorta) that new Berkley Chop Block glide bait no problemo.
2. Abu Garcia REVO X Reel ($150) + 7' M F Abu Veritas Rod ($120) – Kinda a regular combo for me = I like 'em both. REVOs are my fave, and Veritas rods are legit very good in my 2c.
3. Abu Garcia MAX SX Reel ($90) + 7' 1" MH XF Fenwick HMG Rod ($180) – I wasn't surprised by the rod but the reel did surprise me. The only difference I noticed right away vs a REVO was the paddles, which I did not like as much. In other words, it casts really good.
KastKing Mg-Ti Elite Reel
Man any Kistler rod is good to real good. From my own experience, any rod series that ends in "ium" (like helium, magnesium, etc) is very good, and the high-end Z Bones too. They also make specialty rods like the Dock Skipper and Jerkbait rods.
Kistler has reels too but I haven't fished 'em much yet myself. You?

Presents and stocking stuffin's stuff
The most fun you can have not catching fish! 😁 The kids too. Man if every boat had an underwater camera(s) mounted on 'em, bet we would spend a lot of time just watching!
And for safety (and liability) reasons, might want to get a The Captain fore and aft camera system:
My first Q is: Who is Snag Proof Bobby? 😆 Okay Bobby Barrack is one of the most knowledgeable, most experienced and most successful frog fishermen ever – period. He designed this frog. All I need to know!
Z-Man JackHammer Baby Jack
I personally can't wait to fish the snot outta these deals. JackHammers, 'nuff said.
Bomber Flat A and Deep Flat A
Still catches 'em, just $4.99 apiece and now with some colors draw'd by Frank "Bob's your uncle" Scalish like such:
I have not gotten to fish one of these yet, but after holding it in my hand and seeing it "in operation" in a tank, I absolutely want to. Tough as nails, floats and since it's a soft-plastic bait no water can get in it....
Livingston Walking Boss
Well I guess if you're gonna try a Livingston bait, it might as well be the one that won a bunch of $$$ here in the last couple months!
VMC RedLine Hooks
They win tournaments, particularly the Finesse Neko Hook and Drop Shot Hook. They even make a Fluke Swivel Hook:
JDM hooks
You could start and stop with Ryugi or browse the full range on TW. Is there something to 'em? A bunch of the younger guys 100% believe so and they're doing pretty good!
