Check this 12-02 largie — 25.5″ long, 22″ girth — caught in VIRGINIA by Stephen Miklandric on Saturday. On a jig “at a small lake just outside of Richmond:”

Incredible as it sounds, VA’s record largie is a 16-04 caught from Connor Lake on May 20, 1985 — which is when this dude ruled the world:

Almost a bigger deal than that VA DD is this IL fish, which weighed 8-06. While it’s true that big bass don’t grow in IL — except in Terry Brown’s imagination (lol gotcha Terry) — believe it or not the state record there is a 13-01 caught in Stone Quarry Lake in 1976. This one’s a swimbait fish:

Now that it’s official that bacon and other red meat cause cancer, some reality:
