5 Things You May Not Know About Loomis

That’s of course Loomis as in G.Loomis. Check it:

1. Every rod that carries the G.Loomis logo on it is, and will continue to be, made right here in the USA – Woodland, WA to be exact. Plus Loomis does not import any rod blanks or rods.

2. G.Loomis design engineer David Brinkerhoff has qualified for the B.A.S.S. Federation National Championship. His father, Jim Brinkerhoff, recently fished in the FLW’s The Bass Federation National Championship. Jim’s nephew, Richard G. Davey (aka J.R.), fished in the FLW Youth Bass National Championships. All three in the same year…impressive.

3. G.Loomis engineering director and rod designer Steve Rajeff has won the U.S. Casting “All Rounds” Championships a total of 35 times, and the World Championships 14 times. Steve holds 19 of the 20 world records in this competition.

4. Veteran angler and G.Loomis promotional angler Renaud Pelletier – from Vancouver, WA – has qualified for the Bassmaster Classic three times: once as a Federation angler, once as an Open angler and once under the old Top 150 format. Dang!

5. G.Loomis’ new NRX bass rods won “Best of Show” in the rod category and “Best of Show Overall” in the 2010 ICAST fishing industry trade show in Las Vegas.

Speaking of NRX – you could win one this week, right here on the BassParade. Git after it, folks!

I didn’t realize they had so many bass folks running the show. I figured everyone there went after trout and salmon.

Here’s to hoping that I’ll get lucky this week. I know that G Loomis makes an incredible rod but I just can’t see paying that high dollar price.

However, knowing now that they are made completely in the US, I might have to just save up and buy G Loomis from here on out. Hard not to support a company like that.

Think it’s pretty cool that they are USA made, I didn’t know that. I don’t think I have one rod that didn’t come with a sticker on the end of the rod that didn’t say “Made In China”.

  29. Steve

    Win a G. Loomis NRX from BassParade.com

  30. Flip 'N' Pitch

    April 19, 2011 at 9:45 pm

I think the microguides will be just another passing fad. It could be legit technology (so was Shimano’s lockable Fightin’ Drag) but I think really it’s just another marketing ploy to try to compensate/compete with the quality of the “Big Boys”, G. Loomis being my favorite. First came the orange rods, then the yellow ones, and now the white ones. Move along, move along. I’ve learned the hard way that there are lures that catch fish and there are lures that catch fishermen. G. Loomis catches fish.
