Who Is This Guy?

Ran across this pic of Billy Westmoreland the other day, of “Them Ol’ Brown Fish”/Tennessee smallmouths fame. (Heck yeah I have a copy of that book, and was on pins and needles the first time I fished Dale Hollow.)

Billy’s on the right – who’s that on the left? Y’all know who he is, older now, you may not recognize him. Take a guess….

Yep, it’s Jerry. I asked Mike McKinnis who it was last night, and he just laughed, said that pic is in their offices in Little Rock and he sees it every day. Zona said, “Billy Westmoreland and Jerry McKninnis,” no hesitation, same for Dave Mercer. Fishin’ fans!

It is spelled Westmorland (no “e”) if I’m not wrong. It took me 3 years on ebay to find a copy of “Them
Ol’ Brown Fish” and it think I paid 35 w/shipping. Worth every cent just for the pictures alone. Pictures like that are why you take pictures! re:

to wit: One of my fav Fishin’ Hole episodes was Jerry with Stringbean. Tragic outcome, here’s a bunch of his background. http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2007/06/murder_in_the_k.html
