Today's Top 5

1. Green Bay a frickin' traffic jam.

Bet Jerry and the boys can't wait to have another tourney there. Quotes from various places:

“There were 60 to 70 boats in that area."
– KVD talking about the waters near Little Sturgeon in Door County.

“Seventy-five percent of these fish are coming from a 3-mile stretch of water.”
– Mark Davis

“Not sure what we're going to do tomorrow, we cleaned that place out.”
– Steve Kennedy

Love this one from David Walker: “The thing about fishing in a crowd – its fun when you’re catching them, but when you’re watching them get caught, it’s not.”

That's true even if you're not in a crowd, man!

2. Martens finally gets some water.

Aaron Martens dropshots in Florida. He dropshots for trout. He'll dropshot for anything anywhere there's water. Maybe even where there's not.

Finally he's got some water that matches his passion. Aaron quote from Bassmaster.com: “I threw back a lot of 3 1/2-pounders today and didn’t fish 5 percent of my spots."

Let's see if the weather cooperates for him.

He also said: "I can’t imagine what it would be like if we could fish the Promised Land up north.”

C'mon, man. We can all imagine what it would be like, especially the anti-bass WI DNR….

3. Dudley whacks 24 lbs of largies on Champlain.

All that needs to be said. No chainsaw needed (anyone remember that?). An amazing smallie-lake limit for the current #1-ranked angler in the world and FLW Angler of the Year points leader.

4. The new Power-Pole Drift Paddle?!

Chris Lane fishing Green Bay, as seen here. Hmmmm…..

5. David Walker decked by an angry drum!

Tip of the Day

Should the pros be fishing the Depth Charge?

> Smallmouth will relate to structure however they use the depth for cover.

> They will suspend from 10 to 45 feet deep and even deeper and can be impossible to catch. That is where this lure comes into play the best

> The Depth Charge was designed to take the work out of jerk baiting. No more struggling to get the bait deep enough, jerking or waiting to get the action you desire. The Depth Charge also takes away the work and time wasted trying to get a crankbait into the zone where the fish are.

Quote of the Day

If [wind is] a factor [today], that's when it'll separate the boys from the girls.

David Dudley on BassFan. We're all waiting to see which gender the FLW boys'll be…and for that matter the BASS guys.

Shot of the Day

David Dudley's daughter loves to squeeze basses! (From here.)
