Today’s Top 5
Dang!
> …caught flipping mats on Lake Jackson in Florida. She was caught on a Bruiser colored D-Bomb….
Shoulda been a 2-hander tho….
– Brandon Palaniuk in what might be the all-time most-watched bassin’ pro vid ever featurin’ an Elite pro. Check it:
Yep, that many peeps wanna watch BP wiggle his stick for spawners…that might not sound right but that’s what he’s doin’! What this proves:
- If you know how to operate a drone, iMovie and have any kind of eye, you can make a cool vid (no offense Hunter — nice job cutting and shooting this man).
- Anyone who picked up BP as a sponsor was verrrrrrrry smart.
- One more thing I ain’t gonna tell ya! But here’s a hint:
You wanna git yer mitts on one of the new Rapala Shadow Raps? Two ways to maybe get one sent yer way:
1. I’m gonna post this “win one” thang on Facebook — SHARE it ASAP!! I’ll pick a few weeners from the sharer pool, send the baits out Monday.
2. Find me at the Classic. No Classic War Room this year, so if I don’t get talked into going out on the water I’ll be at the show. (Will also have a few ginormous Strike King 8.0 squarebill cranks with me if that’s more your style…yo.)
…over the lock mess. Really Skeeter? (Yamaha?)
If that was the only reason, that’s incredibly old school and not in a good way. Thought bassin’ had moved beyond that.
May be a worse call than this:
Just one bass-head’s opinion….

Tip of the Day
> This is something a lot of recreational anglers don’t do. Almost every pro I know pays careful attention to exactly what he was doing when he got a bite. If you don’t do that, there’s no way to duplicate a successful technique.
> Please note that I said cadence. Far too many anglers worry about either their pulls or their pauses when they should be worried about the whole package. Subtle differences can make a big difference. Two short pulls with a 5 second pause isn’t the same as three short pulls with a 5 second pause, and a 5 second pause isn’t the same as an 8 second pause.
Quote of the Day
I’ve made no secret of the fact that one of the reasons I transitioned from the FLW Tour to the Elite Series is because I wanted to compete against the best anglers in the world on a weekly basis.
– Randall “don’t play dat” Tharp talkin‘ on Bassmaster.com. Most FLW transplants say that plus bigger media plus bigger sponsor interest. Also said:
> I’m shocked that Kevin didn’t make the Classic, and a little disappointed, too. While our field is incredibly talented and just about any of them could win it, if I am fortunate enough to win I want to know that I beat him, too.
I like that Randall ain’t coppin’ the “it’s me against the fish” line, which is so:
Shot of the Day
Cool shot, but don’t get it:
This makes more sense to me:
Last Werd
At least a couple of y’all got yer skirts twisted when I called out Havasu in the last BB. First, if you don’t read the BB with tongue in cheek, yer missin’ about half of it. Second, gotta ask: Is it really worth getting defensive about a LAKE?? Save that for comments about your mom…. Anyhow, remember why you bass-fish: It’s fun yo!
