Hardly the first, “The Swarm” by Swarming Hornet Lures was out within a week, they had to be close to first commercially made KO’s, but as of now, I think there is close to 20 KO’s

This is surely the mother of all the A-rig knockoffs… They categorize the “Ohio rig” as a cage-lure. Here’s the ad: http://therockyriver.com/TheOhioRig.jpg

The descrip and fine print is actually pretty funny – just don’t know who in their right mind would try to chuck one of these things out there…

    peace.

The ridiculous part about this all is that a lot of tournament circuits are either banning it, or limiting its use, that’s fine by me, I have several of the rigs, mostly homemade, have caught lots of fish on them as well, I see it as a way to catch fish sometimes when other more common methods aren’t working, but all the hype and “new” rigs coming out to me is just a joke, I get at least one email a week from many of the online tackle stores I buy from showing me the new “umbrella rig” or the new “schoolie rig” give me a break, how much can they over market one product that has a small window of effectiveness throughout the year? you don’t see the same companies that make crankbaits showing off their over copied color they stole from another company selling it as “new unheard of color” do you?? I’ll stick with my “traditional” baits, and save the “a-rig” for those days when I just want to catch one another way.

I rep for a couple tackle companies, and listening to the stores talk about how they are selling these, and how these rigs are increasing tourney bag weights is crazy. It really is something that has changed fishing more than anything else since I’ve been into fishing.

Talked to a retailer Mon about Tues nighters on Bull Shoals. What took 15lbs last year this time to win is now taking 21lbs. This A-rig and all the knockoffs really are something. On the ethical/social I’ll keep my mouth shut. As long as swimbaits keeps drying up on the shelves, I’m all for it.

You can call ours a knock-off number 21 if you want but by reference we might as well call it a blackjack! The ABT Multi-Rig System is the “Ultimate Umbrella Rig”

Check it out on the video or go to ABTLures.com. Patent Pending too and being talked about on many of the major websites now.
