Fantasy Fishing: We’ll Kick Your Bass

Listen up all you fantasy fishing nerds, it’s time to put up or shut up! Bass Parade has started our very own B.A.S.S. fantasy fishing league and we’d love for you to sign up and take this bass-kicking we’re ready to dole out.

We’re working on some prizes for those who participate. That is IF you can beat the Bass Parade pundits, of course.

Details on how to join after the jump.

HOW TO JOIN [and receive your whoopin’]:

Our league name is “bassblaster.bassgold.com”. Log on to BassmasterFantasy.com, register [if you haven’t already], then click the “My Groups” tab at the top of the page. Click “Join a Group” [image below].

Click "My Groups" and scroll down to "Join a League". Type in "bassblaster.bassgold.com".

If you’re starting from scratch you’ll need to create your entry. Just click the yellow “Create Entry” button under the Frontpage tab and enter all the pertinent info.

Search for “bassblaster.bassgold.com” and the Bass Parade league will show up. From there, click the league name and join. Done! Now all that’s left is to pick your team and stock up on band-aids in preparation for the fantasy beatdown you’re about to experience.

Click the league name to join and prepare to get your bass handed to you.

Is Bass Parade willing to back up its smack talk and make a friendly wager with Greg and Rich (infamous “Tweetgate” Tweeter) from “Fantasy Fishing Insider” ? Come on the podcast, high noon. Bring it!

So we want to make it interesting, do we?

What’d you boys have in mind? I’m all for a little friendly competition.

And, let me just say, that based on the roster I have right now… I’m either going to burn everybody or dig myself into a hole so deep I’ll be playing catch-up the rest of the year.

        No guts, no glory!

Prizes for each event or just year end?

      Year-end standings …

    What are the prizes?

I follow the prizes and have already dropped one group for another. It’s going to take a lot to get me out of the 3 I’m in right now. It is really lame that we can only be in 3 leagues.

You guys need to set up an FLW League. I would join that Fer Sure.

What we’ve proposed to a potential sponsor is a prize for each event, as well as a prize package after the 3rd and 6th events with a grand prize package at the end.

Nothing final yet. We’ll keep you posted.

Tempting, part of me wants to defend title as W2F champ, but if your sponsor comes thru, it could be worth it

I was right on your tail in the W2F league. I’m out for redemption this time around. 😉

And why we’re limited to three leagues is beyond me. Pretty lame.

I had to create an alter ego so I could enter this league and a few others, not sure how I ended up with a completely different line up??

“not sure how i ended up with a different line-up” ! … Hogwash! … I’m considering an 11th-hour change to my lineup based on some “Insider” knowledge … from a guy, that knows a guy … that knows a guy. … Maybe I’ll just keep it the way it is. Or maybe not …

Well, since I won Bo’s FF contest last year I’m in again this year. You ready to get your sphincter kicked Ace? 🙂

I’m in deep trouble. I’m also a little irked.

I don’t know if anyone else tried to make any changes last night, but I got on just after midnight to get my team in order and the rosters had already locked. 🙁

Oh well, no excuses. Hopefully the folks I chose will show up (they won’t). I’ll have to make up the deficit later in the season.

Good luck everybody! I think this is going to be a very fun and interesting Classic to watch.

I think the rosters lock at midnight … or maybe 12:01 a.m. of the day the tournament starts.

I made a late roster change from Butcher to KJ … got some insider scuttlebutt that he has found the winning fish and has a new bait or color that’s slaying them … we’ll see!

        February 18, 2011 at 9:33 am

According to the rules they’re supposed to lock at 8 a.m. ET the morning of the event. But it’s definitely midnight.

I was not looking forward to this moment! LOL … aren’t you glad you waited too long to change your roster?

It’s a long season … we’ll see. But as for this week, yes, I must confess … owned!

I, for one, welcome my new Bass Parade Overlords …
