Carolina rig explained in detail

Believe it or not, a lot of folks have either a) forgotten how to fish a Carolina rig because, you know, it was “uncool” for a while; or b) never learned how to do it. In this long, comprehensive vid, Mark Davis runs you through it from A to Z.

Rig-wise, he starts with a 3/4- or 1-oz lead weight. Sometimes, when he’s sure he’s not around any rocks, he’ll use a Strike King Tour Grade Tungsten weight. Then a PLASTIC bead because it won’t chip and cut the line, unlike glass. After the swivel, he uses a Palomar to tie on a 2/0 offset round-bend hook (use the lightest hook you can get away with) with a finesse worm, Game Hawg or 6″ lizard. Use a bigger hook if you go to a big bait.
