BP on BP: Palaniuk Won’t Look

Brandon Palaniuk’s catch phrase is “Do Work”. The Palaniuk contingent supporting the Federation Nation champ at the Bassmaster Classic had that slogan printed on the back of their T-shirts, and it’s plastered all over his Facebook wall by adoring fans.

It seems BP is taking that slogan to heart. Check out this pic he just sent in from Florida. He’s putting in a late night—doing work—in preparation for the Citrus Slam that kicks off tomorrow morning at the St. Johns River.

Brandon did take the time to send us a quick practice report, and you might be surprised to learn that his strategy doesn’t involve looking for spawners. Here’s what he had to say:

Practice went pretty well.  I’ve located some good fish over the last couple days, but as much as I love sight-fishing and as perfect as things are lining up for this to be won sight-fishing, that’s not what I intend to do.

I’m hoping that the stars line up and things go right for this one.  I’m fishing to win!

Is the rookie crazy for ignoring the sight bite, or has he found a wrinkle in the pattern puzzle that he can exploit for a win? Whatever he’s doing, he sounds confident it will work.

Good luck, Brandon. DO WORK!

Sight fishing very rarely wins multi-day events, you just end up running out of fish unless you have waves of them coming up. Their first day they usually don’t lock in either, so you have to just have a ton of fish planned out and hope that they’re ready to go and that you don’t run them off by fishing for them on a day that they’re not locked on. Also, “Do Work” was started on Rob and Big, not Fantasy Factory.

You are correct, and BB is going to be on the fantasy factory in the upcoming season for those of you who miss him.
