Bassers Are Great: 2 Examples

We stumbled upon these while researching the 50 patterns recently uploaded to BassGold.com for Lake Norman, NC. I know you know it, but bassers are great. Check it – and btw, both quotes are from Bassin’Fan:

Clay Dyer gave up more than 3 hours of fishing time to [a fellow competitor] him part of the way back to the launch. Early in the afternoon, he turned his boat over to a local non-competitor he knew and rode the rest of the way in Dyer’s boat. [From here.]

That was at a Bassmaster Open, I think, and bear in mind that Clay has yet to cash a check at an Open. Fingers crossed for you this week Clay!

[Andy] Morgan broke down early on the morning of day 2. He had fishing line around his prop and it broke the seal. He called his buddy Larry Nixon, who came to pick him up. But as it turned out, Nixon gave Morgan his boat, and Nixon fished all day in the crippled rig (Nixon caught just one fish the first day, whereas Morgan was in contention to win). [From here.]

Gotta love it.

Won’t be publishing tomorrow. Hope that inspires you to have a Good Friday.

They should really have an award for sportsmanlike conduct in competition. It ‘s great to be recognized as a great angler, but even more important to be a great person.
