2. I ain’t sayin’.

Dean Rojas, a perennial Oneida favorite, when asked what baits he’ll make sure to have at Oneida. KVD and Big Show did answer the question:

> KVD: Frog, Sexy Dawg topwater, and a Strike King Rodent for pitching.

> Scroggins: Pad Crasher frog, 1-ounce jig, and 3/8 ounce Texas-rigged Wooly Bug.

Interesting that both those guys reeled off largie baits. It’s a given that Dean will go for largies…with frogs (plural).

3. New Road Runner multi-bait rig.

Even Road Runner’s in on the action. Behold the “Reality Shad Buffet Rig:”

Tip of the Day

KVD on fishing drought conditions.

> Regardless of whether you’re fishing a southern impoundment or the Great Lakes, finding the bait is critical under these conditions.

> I’ve spent most of the summer just driving around areas watching my Humminbird Side Imaging and sonar looking for bait. Under normal conditions, I would be looking for bass on structure, but now I look for the bait to determine what areas they are using on a given day.

> Once I find quantities of bait, I start checking out the nearby structure. But if there’s no bait, I don’t waste time fishing that area.

> These conditions have made the HydroWave even more valuable. I can program authentic sounds of baitfish and/or bass feeding on baitfish to activate the baitfish school and trigger bass into biting. That’s invaluable when the bass are in a lethargic mood.

Quote of the Day

It’s really difficult to discipline yourself to pull off the smallies and go target largemouth, but that’s what I’ll probably have to do.

– KVD talking about Oneida. “Probably?!”

Shot of the Day

Which one would you rather catch? I’m going brown!
