Today’s Top 3

1. Check this Clear Lake mega A-rig!

My only question: How in the world do you cast that thing? Do you have to “stroll” it?!

2. Ice fisherman’s secret: glowing lures.

Maybe there’s something to the whole UV thing after all? Especially for deep fish?

> Hammond said glowing lures are particularly effective during early morning or evening…. They’re painted with fluorescent paint and he gets them glowing by quickly bathing them in light from a camera flash.

> He said most keep their glow for about 10 minutes. When the glow is gone, he reels them in and gives them another flash.

> “When I used my underwater camera, I noticed that there’s extremely low visibility during those times and the fish can’t see very far. I found out when I enhanced the color of the lure and its visibility by having it glow, the fish immediately became attracted to it.”

3. Brent Chapman’s new wraps.

Here you go, boat and truck. Was real easy to find the neon green Tightlines UV boat on the water – maybe that’s why Brent changed it? (lol)

Not only that, a 5-yr deal. Stoked for him. If that didn’t happen, he would’ve been sitting out this year.

3. FLW has an app.

‘Bout time! And for those keeping score, that makes exactly one app from the two big bassin’ organizations…though there might be another coming out soon (you didn’t hear that from me!).

The guy with a boogill on his boat….

Tip of the Day

…get prepared for the fishing season. Check all your rod guides, organize your tackle….

Brent Chapman. Notice what he put first: Check your rod guides. Raise your hand if you do that before the season. Didn’t think so….

Quote of the Day

Without an hour of sleep, we signed-up at the ramp and fished another event.

Charlie Hartley talking about Davy Hite talking him into driving all night from one derby to another. Charlie also said:

> I can’t speak for him, but I can say that I don’t think I could do that again. I love to fish, and I pride myself on being tough, but two tournaments with an all-night drive in between is probably more than I can handle these days.
