News

1. Tourney Fishing Radio finished?

Hopefully not. Great show, great guys.

2. PA’s new tactic to get Susquehanna fixed.

> John Arway, the director of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, is asking for your help. If you ever fished the Susquehanna River, Arway wants you to tell the world what it was like. He’s asking that you convey your experiences and send it to the PFBC website.

> “Right now our friend — the river — is in trouble and needs your help,” Arway said.

> “The government agencies in charge of protecting the river have gathered the facts which show that the fish in the river are sick. However, that has not been enough evidence to convince others in positions of authority to act,” he wrote.

3. Radio interview with Tak.

On Outdoors This Week with Alex Langer, very cool, not many Takahiro interviews. Tak says in there that Lucky Craft is coming out with his own signature crankbaits.

Tip of the Day

U Rigs in stained water.

> As long as the water has at least 1 foot of visibility, AL guide Jimmy Mason doesn’t hesitate to throw an umbrella rig.

> “In dirty water, I’m going to play with my baits a lot more. I love using 5-inch Yum Money Minnows in the middle of the rig because they give it a much bigger profile that displaces a lot more water. This extra visibility and water disturbance draws attention to my Yumbrella Rig a lot better than smaller baits would.”

> [In muddy water] “the only way we could get consistent bites was by using 5-inch chartreuse grubs on the outsides. I was running a full size, 5-inch Money Minnow in the middle and the 5-inch grubs on the outside of the rig in order to help the bass see the bait better. It ended up reducing our short strikes and dramatically increasing our hookup ratio.”
